18 menus and shopping lists

Whew...I just organized 18 dinner menus and shopping lists. I used "Saving Dinner" by Leanne Ely for 9 menus. I also used a software I mentioned in one of my earlier posts to create 9 menus using some of our favorite dishes. I hope that my family will like the menus from the book because we have never tasted the recipes. I am excited about trying them though. I needed to replace a few of the dishes in the book because we don't eat beef anymore.

Way too much time....

spent on looking for things. Spent over an hour looking for a math test booklet. This has got to change.

It's been a productive week

The week has been productive for me...not perfect, but productive. I did my house blessing almost every day this week. Got to use my new Floor Mate, and get caught up on the laundry. I have to do the laundry every day in order to stay on top of things. I decided to let my children fold the laundry in the laundry room and one of them will deliver them to the appropriate rooms. This has made the family room so much neater :-)

Getting started again.

Time to get back on the "House Blessing" wagon. I am thankful for my home so I have got to give some honor to God by keeping this place together. Gonna spend 60 minutes "Blessing my house" today.

Happy New Year!

So 2005 is here. Since the 1/1 I've been on an intense internet project to find out about goal setting, because I really would like this to be a good year. There's a lot of info on the 'net, some it good and some of it bad. I read a lot of material, but I still wasn't ready to start with my goal setting until I came across this message at organizedhome.com. http://organizedhome.com/ftopict-6285.html (by Suzer). This hit everything on the head for me! I also found the following articles

I'm ready to jump in now! My friend and I are going to be "goal buddies" so we should be able to encourage each other.

Order

I just discovered something about being organized and orderly...it "frees you up" to do other things. When I pick up things the night before, the next morning when I come downstairs I feel like I have more liberty and can get on with things that are so important to me like Bible reading and devotions. It makes it a lot easier to do school work too. So now I don't declutter and clean just for the sake of decluttering etc. It has a much greater purpose. Knowing this has helped make decluttering and cleaning a little easier. After all God is not a God of disorder and confusion, but of peace. Why shouldn't I be like my Father?!

Menu planning

Found a free software for menu planning and shopping lists. The free version only allows 100 recipes but that's okay for me. I got in two weeks worth of menus and shopping lists. I think my husband will appreciate this since he does all the food shopping. He's the coupon king!
